Kilcock Canoe Polo Club

The Demons team represented KCPC in the European club champs last the weekend (18-20th Sept). The team consisted of Ciaran McCormack, Paddy Mooney(Capt), Brian Devlin, Declan Phelan(Norman), Gareth Carroll and Sean Delaney. Some of you might have already seen from the Pas de Calais websites that the venue was amazing, with two brand new, segregated pitches surrounded by grandstands. It is a fabulous new venue and will no doubt compete with Charleroi in the coming years, as it is not only an amazing place, but an extremely well run and organised competition. Our team did quite well; in fact better than we anticipated in the lead up to it. All of our games were extremely close and hard fought. We came away a little disappointed at our positioning within the competition and if a few things had of gone our way we could easily have made the top 8 group. Unfortunately they didn’t and we came 13th overall. However, we not only enjoyed ourselves on the pitch but off as well, with some good food in the evenings topped off with some good company. The weather was amazing and we are looking forward to returning to Saint Omer next year for the Calais competition.
