Kilcock Canoe Polo Club

The Irish Open was held in Galway last weekend under beautiful blue skies and great polo was played in a great competition at a great venue.

KCPC was well represented by 3 teams who played some fantastic polo and had great craic meeting old friends and making new ones!

Demons were pipped at the post for 1st place in Div 1 in a strange nail biting final by WWKC (3-4). Once again the referee’s outdid themselves, to make it a typical Irish Open final.
Demons: Mark McCormack, Ciaran McCormack, Brian Devlin, Paddy Mooney, Declan Phelan, Sean Delaney & Gareth Carroll.

Our younger Division 1 team Devils finished 3rd. The majority of Devils are U18 and some are as young as 15. They are fast becoming a force to be reckoned with. Watch out all you Division 1 Teams!
Devils Team: Liam Hendrick, Sean Hendrick, Alan Morgan, John McSweeney, Marc Denmead & Justin Cullinane.

Our Division 3 team Iblis reached the final and narrowly missed out on 1st place to a ‘golden goal’ by Aquacats. Theirs was a thoroughly exciting and enjoyable match.
Iblis Team: Pat Hendrick, Brian Hennelly, Colin O’Reilly, Insoda Rimvydas, Thomas Stack & Christopher Morash.

KCPC member of the weekend has to be Peter Fitzgerald who is always a winner and as usual came up trumps looking after all the teams before, during and after the event.
