Celebrating 10 Years of Canoe Polo in Kilcock ...
THE PARTY BEGAN
This year we are celebrating 10 years of canoe polo in Kilcock Canoe Polo Club. 10 years of work with a great team of people has resulted in Kilcock Canoe Polo Club being very successful. We have celebrated this success with a Party on the 2nd of November. The sun shone brightly on the Harbour as the Club members, families and friends gather to prepare for the biggest party of the Year. Preparations began at 10am on Sunday with the erecting of a large Marquee in the Harbour. By noon everything was ready and the BBQ was working hard cooking for the gang of people gathering to celebrate this anniversary party. The senior players gave a display of the game of canoe polo followed by the junior players having a duck race along the harbour. Following the cake cutting by the junior players and Patricia McCormack it was time to present Proficiency awards to members of the club. This year the Club launched it own Badge system of Proficiency awards in Canoe Polo. This award system links closely with the already existing proficiency awards from the ICU with the exception that skills of canoe polo must be achieved through the 6 levels of proficiency along with development of the player, fitness and safety awareness. A number of Awards were presented to members of the club. The awards were presented by the coaches/instructors Pat Hendrick, Liz O'Ferrall and Mark McCormack. Each year the Club awards Player of the Year award at Senior level and member of the Year awards at U18 and U16/U15 level. This year 3 awards were presented to the following recipients: - Over 18 Player of the Year - Paddy Mooney - Under 18 - Young Player of the Year - Sarah Morris - Under 15 - Young Player of the Year - John McSweeney We would like to thank all our sponsors for their donations to the Party, a big thank you to all our members, supporters and families for making this a great day of celebration Photos...
