Rules
of Canoe Polo
If you are interested in playing canoe
polo, you will want to familiarise yourself with the rules. What follows
are a short version of the rules, which are designed to start you off.

Canoe polo
is a game played between 2 teams of five players in polo kayaks. Up
to three substitute players may be used by each team |

Each team attempts to score
goals by throwing the ball into the opposing team’s net, which
is suspended above the water. |
| 3. |
Players may not carry the
ball on their boats. Players move the ball up the pitch by throwing
it ahead of them, or by passing it. |
| 4. |
Players may not push another
player, unless that player is in possession of the ball. |
| 5. |
A player’s paddle
may not make contact with another player’s hand. |
| 6. |
Players must wear polo
buoyancy aids and a helmet with a face guard. |
